Eckerd College has a short-term requirement for graduation. There are two short-term types, Autumn Term and Winter Term.
Autumn Term is a three-week session in August, during which students take one academic course for 3.5 credits. First year students choose from among more than twenty Autumn Term classes designed to introduce college-level academic expectations. Transfer students attend an Autumn Term section specifically designed for transfer students. All Autumn Term courses have a subject code of FDN, representing our Foundations Collegium.
Winter Term is a four-week session in January, during which students take one academic course for 3.5 credits. Many Winter Term courses are off-campus, global education experiences. All Winter Term courses have a three letter subject code representing one of our Collegiums; Global Education courses have an I (for international) in the third letter position.
