The major in Ancient Studies requires a total of eleven (11) courses:
HU 102 Writing About (Topics Vary)
LA or GK at least through the 202‑level
Two (2) ancient history courses drawn from the designated list below
Either HU 370H Humanities Academic Internship or HU 388 Humanities Research Symposium
Two (2) electives from the designated list, at least one of which must have an AS, GK, or LA prefix
HU 498 Humanities Colloquium

A minor in Ancient Studies requires six (6) courses:
Two (2) semesters of Latin or Greek, at any level
One (1) of the following ancient history courses: AS 233H Greek History & Political Thought; AS 242H: Ancient Greek History; AS 243H: The Roman Republic: Romulus to Caesar; AS 244H: The Roman Empire
Three (3) electives. Any course bearing the designator AS, GK, or LA may count as an elective. Courses bearing HU, RE, or PL designators may also count if they appear in the list of elective courses above.
